Real Range of the Cybertruck: Tesla Data, Highway, Winter, and Towing

Tři Tesly Cybertruck na testovací dráze – test dojezdu

In brief: Tesla claims a range of 500–560 km for the Cybertruck, depending on the version. In real driving conditions in Poland, expect 400–480 km in the city and on the road at moderate speeds, 300–350 km on the highway at 130–140 km/h, and 20–30% less in winter. With a trailer, the range can drop by half. Below are the numbers and ways to get the most out of the battery.

Range According to Tesla – Three Versions

  • Cybertruck RWD: up to about 560 km.
  • Cybertruck AWD: about 520 km.
  • Cyberbeast: about 500 km.

These values are according to the American EPA procedure, which is closer to reality than the European WLTP – but still assumes gentle driving in moderate temperatures. The battery has over 120 kWh of usable capacity; it's thanks to this that a pickup weighing over 3 tons achieves such results.

What Really Eats Up the Range

In an electric car, range is a simple equation: battery capacity divided by consumption. And the Cybertruck's consumption depends primarily on three things.

  • Speed. The Cybertruck has a wedge shape, but it's still tall and wide. At 90–100 km/h, it consumes approximately 25–28 kWh per 100 km, at 130–140 km/h – 38–45 kWh. The difference between driving at 110 and 140 km/h can be up to 120 km on a single charge.
  • Temperature. In winter, the battery is less efficient, and heating the cabin and battery costs energy. The Cybertruck has a heat pump, which mitigates the effect, but at –10 °C and on short trips with a cold car, the real range can be 25–30% lower than in summer.
  • Load and Trailer. A full load reduces range by a few percent; a trailer weighing 2–3 tons can reduce range by 40–50%. We write more about this in the article Towing and Payload of the Cybertruck.

Real Scenarios

  • City and Surroundings, Summer: 420–480 km. Regenerative braking works in your favor, and speeds are low.
  • National Road 90–110 km/h, Summer: 400–450 km.
  • Highway 130–140 km/h, Summer: 300–350 km.
  • Highway in Winter, 130 km/h, –5 °C: 250–300 km.
  • With a 2.5-ton Trailer on the Road: 200–260 km.

These are approximate ranges based on user experiences and our own vehicles – not a promise. The onboard computer calculates range in real-time based on your driving style and is surprisingly accurate if you give it a few dozen kilometers to learn.

How to Drive Further on a Single Charge

  • Preheat the battery before starting and before fast charging (navigation to a Supercharger does this automatically) – in winter, this is the biggest single difference.
  • 120 instead of 140 km/h on the highway – about 60–80 km more range, and the travel time on 300 km is longer by only a few minutes.
  • Lower suspension position on fast roads – the car does this automatically, but it's worth not blocking this function.
  • Tire pressure according to recommendations; off-road tires cost a few percent of range compared to road tires.
  • Seat and steering wheel heating instead of heating the entire cabin to the maximum on short trips.

Planning a Trip Across Europe

With a network of fast chargers in Poland and Europe, 300 km of highway range means a charging break every 2.5–3 hours – roughly as recommended by regulations for drivers. How to charge the Cybertruck at European stations and how much it costs is described in the article Charging the Cybertruck in Europe.

Check the Range on Your Own Route

The best way is to see for yourself: schedule a test drive in Katowice (ul. Francuska 184) or Częstochowa (ul. Główna 140) and drive a section you use daily. We'll show you how the car calculates range and plans charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the real range of the Tesla Cybertruck?

Approximately 400–480 km in the city and on national roads in summer, 300–350 km on the highway at 130–140 km/h, 250–300 km on the highway in winter. Tesla's claim is 500–560 km depending on the version.

How much range does the Cybertruck lose in winter?

Usually 20–30% compared to summer, most on short trips with a cold car. Preheating the battery and the heat pump reduce losses.

What is the battery capacity of the Cybertruck?

Over 120 kWh of usable capacity in all versions.

How much power does the Cybertruck use per 100 km?

Approximately 25–28 kWh at 90–100 km/h, 30–35 kWh in mixed driving, and 38–45 kWh at 130–140 km/h.

Which version has the longest range?

RWD (up to about 560 km), then AWD (about 520 km), and Cyberbeast (about 500 km). In practice, the differences between AWD and Cyberbeast are small.

How does range change with a trailer?

With a 2–3 ton trailer, it drops by 40–50% – realistically 200–260 km between charges.

Is the Cybertruck suitable for long trips across Europe?

Yes – with 300 km of highway range and charging breaks every 2.5–3 hours, it's comfortable to drive; the condition is a good adapter and planning charging in navigation.

Versions, prices, and availability of the Cybertruck in Poland are described in the guide Tesla Cybertruck in Poland 2026.
