Cybertruck or Tesla Model X? A Comparison for European Buyers

Two Tesla Cybertrucks in a company parking lot

In short: these are two completely different cars united by a logo. The Model X is a large family SUV with European approval, Tesla service in every major city, and a price starting from approx. €100,000. The Cybertruck is a stainless steel pickup with a towing capacity of 5 tons and a bed, which Tesla does not sell in Europe – a registered unit here costs from €118,000. If you need a sensible family car, the answer is Model X. If you want a vehicle that does something nothing else does – read on.

Numbers side by side

  • Body: Model X – SUV with 5 or 7 seats, Falcon doors; Cybertruck – pickup with 5 seats and a 1.83 m bed.
  • Dimensions: Model X approx. 5.06 m long and 2.0 m wide; Cybertruck approx. 5.68 m and 2.2 m.
  • Weight: Model X approx. 2.5 t; Cybertruck approx. 3.1 t (GVW 4,250 kg).
  • Power and acceleration: Model X AWD approx. 670 hp and 0–100 km/h in approx. 3.9 s, Plaid over 1,000 hp and approx. 2.6 s; Cybertruck AWD 600 hp and approx. 4.3 s, Cyberbeast 845 hp and approx. 2.7 s.
  • Range: Model X approx. 600 km WLTP; Cybertruck 500–560 km according to EPA – in practice, the Model X goes further on a single charge.
  • Towing: Model X 2,250 kg; Cybertruck 4,990 kg.
  • Charging: Model X – CCS2, no adapter; Cybertruck – NACS, in Europe via adapter (see Charging the Cybertruck in Europe).
  • Approval: Model X – European type approval, registration like any new car; Cybertruck – individual approval in Poland.

Price: what are you really comparing

The Model X in Europe costs approximately from €100,000 (AWD version) to over €120,000 (Plaid), with full Tesla warranty and no formalities beyond standard registration. Cybertruck in our offer: €118,000 for a used AWD Foundation Series or €134,700 for a new Cyberbeast – registered in Poland, ready to drive. A new Cybertruck ordered from the USA is more expensive because the American price is increased by transport, duty, VAT, and preparation – you can calculate this in the import calculator. So, the cars are close in price; the difference lies in what you get.

Service, warranty, everyday life

Here, the Model X has an unbeatable advantage: official Tesla service centers, European warranty, parts on site, app, and mobile service. The Cybertruck, as a car outside Tesla's European offer, is serviced differently – software updates and the app work normally, but repairs and parts require a workshop familiar with this car and importing parts from the USA. We write about this honestly in the article Cybertruck Service in Europe. If hassle-free is most important – Model X.

When does the Cybertruck make sense

  • You tow or carry. Boat, horses, camper trailer, construction equipment – 4,990 kg towing and over a ton of payload is an argument to which the Model X has no answer.
  • You want a car that is an event. The Cybertruck stops people on the street; for a company, it's advertising on wheels, for a private person – a car no one else in the area has.
  • You drive off-road. Clearance up to 43 cm, pneumatic suspension, rear-wheel steering, and a steel body that doesn't need to be spared.
  • You need power in the field. 120/240 V outlets on the bed power tools and camping.

When the Model X is better

  • You carry your family daily – seven seats, Falcon doors, the silence and comfort of an SUV.
  • You want to drive further on a single charge and charge without adapters.
  • You count on Tesla service near home and a warranty without questions.
  • You park in a tight city – 60 cm shorter and 20 cm narrower makes a difference (comparison in the text Dimensions and Weight of the Cybertruck).

Test drive both

You can see the Model X in a Tesla showroom; the Cybertruck – with us in Katowice (ul. Francuska 184) or Częstochowa (ul. Główna 140). Schedule a test drive on WhatsApp and decide after a few kilometers, not from a table.
